
Laura S. Temple was born and raised in Haymarket, Virginia. She comes from a family of legal minds, as both of her older sisters are lawyers. In 2003, she graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech with two Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Communication. She was a member of the Virginia Tech gymnastics team, active with the student government and spent a semester in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.
In 2006, Laura received her JD from the Villanova University School of Law on Philadelphia’s suburban Main Line. During law school, Laura worked with a legal clinic that helped refugees obtain asylum in the United States and was a Managing Editor of the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. Her own article, “Has the United States Anti-Doping Agency Gone Too Far?” was published in 2006.
Laura moved to the area in May 2006. Her practice of law focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, landlord/tenant matters, community association law and various civil matters.
Laura is currently the President of the Mooresville Friends of the Library and she volunteers with the Community Housing Development Corp. of Mooresville/South Iredell. Laura is also a member of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Laura resides in Huntersville with her husband, Doug, who is an engineer for a local race team.
