2012 Mooresville High Mock Trial Team Wins Regional Championship, Advances to State Finals Competition

The Mooresville High School Mock Trial Program (Blue Team) brought home the Charlotte regional title in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice High School Mock Trial Competition on February 11, 2012 at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse. Coached by local attorney Ronnie D. Crisco, Jr. of Homesley & Wingo Law Group, the students competed against other regional schools in two preliminary rounds before advancing to the championship where they defeated a strong challenge from Audrey Kell High. MHS students Brad Johnson, Julia Farrell, Allie Cairelli, Ryan Rocklein, Lane Farrell, Sara Rich, Tom Walker, and Cale Mehaffey will now compete in the State Finals Competition hosted by Campbell Law School in Raleigh on March 2-3.  Tom Walker was named “Best Witness” for Round 2.  Team members Brad Johnson and Ryan Rocklein received “Best Attorney” honors in Rounds 1 & 2 respectively, and Sara Rich was named “Best Attorney” in the final. This is the second Regional Championship for Mooresville High School in the past 3 years and its third trip to the State Finals since Coach Ronnie Crisco began the program 6 years ago.
